Sensory Outings brings Montessori activities for early to late stage Alzheimer’s residents at memory care communities in the Denver metro area, Arvada, Westminster, Lakewood, Littleton, Greenwood Village, Highland Ranch, Castle Rock and Longmont areas. Sensory Outings brings all the activities and supplies in our activity boxes and your bring the residents to your activity tables. We offer 1 hour program in mornings or afternoons for $55-$75 depending on frequency and number of residents.

Sensory Outings follows the Montessori Method for each individual with early to late stage dementia that includes:
- The activity should have a sense of purpose and capture the person’s interest.
- Offer choices wherever possible.
- Talk less. Demonstrate more.
- Use visual hints, cues or templates.
- Go from simple tasks to more complex ones.
- Focus on what the person can do with physical skills.
- Think engagement.
- There is no wrong or right to do an activity.
- Foster a positive interaction.
Our staff are COVID-19 vaccinated – yahoo! We will have disposable filter 3 ply masks, wash our hands and disinfect individual items after each use.
Examples of Sensory Outings Montessori Activities
Men’s Work: Early to middle stage dementia: Build-a-box, nuts & bolts, globe & maps, flash light repair, and wrenches & screws. Middle to late stage dementia: Pipes & tubes, tool matching, sanding, wood duck polishing, poker chips sorts, and golf balls & mini-muffin tin.
Women’s Activities : Early to middle stage dementia: letters & words, cross stitching, dominoes, dough & cookies cutters, and easel & painting. Middle to late stage dementia: color matching, flower arranging and loom & weaving,.
